Dr. Katie Siek Dr. Siek is an assistant professor in Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is interested in integrating pervasive technologies in health and wellness environments to study how technology affects interventions. Her research interests include human computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, health informatics, and performance support systems. |

Jeffrey La Marche Jeffrey is a first year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science Department. His primary research interest is Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) with a focus on Medical Informatics. Other CS topics that Jeffrey enjoys are artificial intelligence, interface design, learning, and education. In May 2000, Jeffrey graduated from the University of Hartford with a B.S. in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. After graduation he worked as a computer administrator at Brown University and the University of California San Diego. Looking for more meaningful work, Jeffrey applied to graduate school so he could follow his passions more fully. |

Jane Meyers Jane Meyers is a first year PhD student in Computer Science department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her areas of interest include HCI, overt communications (speaking/writing) but also facial expressions, gestures, etc., and health informatics. She is currently working with her advisor, Dr. Katie Siek, on the Colorado Care Tablet project. They are developing techniques to facilitate computer interactions for older adults, particularly in the areas of self-care and medication management. |

Lauren Martina Fosco Lauren Martina Fosco is a second year undergraduate Computer Science student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her research with adviser Dr. Katie Siek and collaborator Vivian Phinney entails the design and development of a web browser for older adults called Avalon. Her areas of interest include HCI, applications of computer science to mechanical engineering, bioinformatics, software engineering, scientific modeling, and game development. |

Vivian Phinney Vivian Phinney is a third year undergraduate student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently involved in research with Lauren Fosco and advisor Katie Siek on the Avalon project to design and implement a more user friendly web-browsing experience for older adults. Her interests include embedded systems, artificial intelligence and circuit bending. |
